Ahmet Zogu’s statue damaged

Unidentified people have tried to overthrow the statue of Ahmet Zogu,
placed by the Berisha government in the capital’s boulevard.
Steel cables were found around the statue, an action considered as provocative since it happened on April 7th, the day when Italy invaded Albania in 1939.
Police declared that they are trying to identify the people who provoked these incidents. This is the second act taken against the statue of Ahmet Zogu. The same thing happened one year ago, when slogans were written on the statue.
