Agriculture Minister: Inspecting pharmacies and farms for artificial stimulants

The Ministry of Agriculture, Edmond Panariti, is inspecting all
pharmacies for chemicals used for an artificial growth of farming
animals and plants.

Panariti said they will not allow sale of pesticides or stimulants outside agricultural pharmacies.

“We will not allow them to be sold outside specialized centers. These are poisonous substances and a public danger. Selling them outside special centers will be considered a law offense”, Panariti declared.

Minister Panariti asked agricultural pharmacies to not sell these chemicals without a prescription, which should inform farmers about the appropriate usage and doses. The Minister says that they will increase inspection even for analyzing samples of products in labs.

“The Plant Inspection Inspectorate will monitor the implementation of these rules. Certainly that the implementation is easier in green houses and big farms. It will be more difficult for small producers”, Panariti declared.

The Ministry of Agriculture has started an awareness campaign for using Albanian products, but consumers complain about their quality due to the usage of chemical stimulants.
