The doctors of the Oncology Hospital have appeared in court with the charges of “corruption” and “abuse of duty”, after the scandal of abuse and exploitation of their sick patients.
Top Channel’s Anila Hoxha announces that the measures against them, two house arrests and four compulsory appearances, have been left in force. During the court session, defendant Gashi requested that the current measure of “house arrest” be lifted, as according to him “he should return to work with the patients”.
“Please remove the security measure, you are preventing me from practicing the profession of a doctor. There are 50 biopsies that have come and are waiting for intervention”, he declared.
The other doctors also asked for the lifting of the restraining measures, as the lawyer Xhoi Nela, the defender of the doctor Edmond Gashi, presented to the court a certificate showing that he is the doctor who has performed 268 operations, all of them successful.
