The World Bank Director for Albania, Europe and Central Asia, Tahseen
Sayed; the leader of the Bektashi Order, Baba Edmond Brahimaj; the
President of “Business Albania”, Luan Bregasi; and the Prime Minister,
Edi Rama, followed the process for the distribution of donations for the
flooded families.

A series of NGOs, schools, the Red Cross and other businesses, offered donations for the 67 flooded families in this region.

Rama connected the presence of the World Bank Director with the frequent communications with the international partners, which Rama considered “fulfilling the needs of the second phase and preparing the third phase”.

“We have started communicating with the World Bank and the other partners. After finishing with the second phase, we will start the third one, which is the phase when government funds, together with the funds from the World Bank and other partners, will compensate the lost cattle. We will support those who lost their production and we will recover most of the producing infrastructure that has been destroyed in the flooded areas”, Rama declared.

“After the emergency phase is over, there will be the need for reconstruction, for helping especially the irrigation canals, roads and other infrastructures. We are working with the government and as soon as we finish the emergency phase, we will work with the government and with the other international partners to guarantee the necessary support after this disaster”, Sayed declared.

The Bektashi Order was one of the contributors. Baba Edmond Brahimaj declared that the Bektashi Order is close to the affected families. They have donated with food and home appliances. The Head of “Business Albania”, Luan Bregasi, declared that business is orienting donations based on the specific requests of residents.
