For six hours, the 10 defendatns in the Elbasan incinerator file, testified today in the Special Court Against Organized Crime and Corruption (SPAK), without the former minister Arben Ahmetaj.

The trial was closed without a decision as the court set the date of February 21 for the next session, where it is expected to give the decision whether it will pass the case for a “fundamental trial” or return it to SPAK prosecution.

Former Minister of Environment Lefter Koka, former MP Alqi Blako, eight members of the bid evaluation commission, along with the respective lawyers, have declared their innocence in this case.

In the session with closed doors, Koka said that this process is rigged and the accusations against him are political.

Alqi Blako, who is accused because of the position he held as the highest official regarding the procedures for the concession, has stated that he had no role and that the entire concession was called by the members of the commission, which they also did not brake the law on their part.
