Tanzania and the other African countries are considering the possibility
of recognizing Kosovo without putting into prejudice the relations with
Serbia.
However, they have put conditions for USA and Great Britain.
This was made public by the Tanzanian Minister for Foreign Cooperation, Bernand Membe, during an interview with “The Guardian”.
He admitted that currently it is difficult to recognize Kosovo, because of Western Sahara.
“Africa is ready to recognize Kosovo, even tomorrow morning, if Great Britain and USA will recognize the Western Sahara”, quotes the British newspaper the African high official.
Africa’s position on Kosovo recognition is complex, because of many unsolved cases regarding the territories of their continent.
However, this decision will be discussed in the agenda of the African Union, 12 countries of which have recognized Kosovo, from 53 countries in total.
