“Eagle 2” returns in Albania

44 special troops of the Albanian Army have successfully ended their
mission “Eagle 2” in Afghanistan, where they served with the US command.

Today they arrived at the Rinas Airport, welcomed by a special ceremony. Happy after fulfilling their mission with dignity, equal to other NATO forces, the special troops of the Albanian army were welcomed by their relatives.

Commander Glen Brown, the US Military attaché in Tirana, was present in the ceremony and congratulated Albania’s commitment in NATO by sending troops in Afghanistan.

“They represent Albania’s commitment as a NATO member. I want to congratulate ‘Eagle 2’ for their return. Now they will face other difficult challenges, because they must leave behind what they experienced there and must tell the others about this experience”, Brown declared.

“Eagle 2” have been trained in Germany before their departure in Afghanistan, and they have received honors from the Deputy Minister of Defense,  Ekrem Spahia, and the Chief of the General Headquarters, Brigadier General Xhemal Gjunkshi.
