“ACR”, letter to miners: Stop strike

Through a written letter, the concessionary company ACR appealed the
mineworkers to interrupt the hunger strike that today marked its 13th
day.

“Based on the current situation, the communication between us has been blocked in an irresponsible way by a group of persons who pretend to be representing your will. We are addressing this letter to you and your families, and we invite you to end the hunger strike, because there is nothing more dear than your health”, the letter says.

“I feel bad when I see ACR mineworkers being used and deceived by specific individuals who have nothing to do with the mines. Not only as ACR leader, but also like an employee of this company, I want to say that the ACR board of directors has decided to accept your request for a pay rise of 20%, and that they are open for further talks”, says the letter that the administrator Giga Bedinenshill addressed to the miners.

“Only through talks, negotiations and respecting the laws we will be able to solve the problems that affect all of us. Only this way we will be able to build a future for your families, for the company and the town of Bulqize”, the letter underlines.

“We will not allow our talks to be influenced by external people who have no connection with our company, with our common problems, but that are only using the life of the mineworkers and of their families for personal gains”, the letter continues.

“It is unacceptable and immoral for me to see our mineworkers sacrificing themselves for the personal interests of people such as Kol Nikolla. I cannot agree with such a situation. I will never dialogue with people who do not care for the life and the future of the families of our company. I am convinced that you will understand this appeal for cooperation. I am ready to start dialogue as soon as possible”, concludes the letter addressed to the miners.
