The consequences of the theft with the medicament reimbursement schemes
are continuing with other people leaving their jobs, while some have
been already prosecuted.
The Director of the Health Care Fund, Milva Ikonomi, is expected to take strong measures against the persons implicated.
The Health Minister, Ilir Beqaj, when asked about this issue, declared that the administrative measure will continue at the Central and Regional fund.
“We have communicated with the High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets, to see if there is conflict of interest. The new director of the fund, commanded today, will continue to implement the anti-corruption unit recommendations of the Council of Ministers. Measures are also being taken at the General Directory and at the Directory of Tirana. These are only administrative measures. The Prosecution is continuing with its cases on its own line”, beqaj declared.
Other persons in the reimbursement and IT sector at the Regional Fund of Tirana will also leave their jobs.
The Health Minister declared that while we have entered the tourist season, they are taking measures to offer a more qualitative service to citizens. Special ambulances will be placed at the most frequented beaches.
Beqaj gave these declarations while inaugurating a new health care center at the Don Bosko area, which will offer service to 25.000 residents.
