20 years from the fall of Adem Jashari, the event that changes Kosov’s history is commemorated in Tirana as well.
The brother of the legendary KLA commander, Rifat Jashari, said that the Kosovo war would have not been possible without the help of Albanians in this side of the border.
What KLA has done is seen even today by politicians and diplomats as a directive for the future of Kosovo.
“It is our inspiration for consolidating our state internally and internationally”, said Syle Ukshini, Kosovo Ambassador to Albania.
Pandeli Majko, former Prime Minister of that time who had to manage a very difficult situation, said that what the Jashari and the KLA left behind, is a very important message for the future generations.
“Often freedom has the burden of silence of the fallen. In this case our duty is to transmit to next generations the message of the men and women who shoed themselves in the hardest days of the nation”, Majko said.
