Five people died and six others are in serious conditions in the three
different accidents that happened in the recent hours in Elbasan and
Kavaje.
The first accident took place on Monday, at the Elbasan-Peqin national axis, where the 65-year-old Ike Xhakoi crashed with a truck. Police arrested the truck driver.
Three young men died this morning and three others are in serious conditions, after the vehicle they were driving crashed with an electric pole. The accident took place at the Elbasan-Librazhd axes.
According to he Elbasan police, the dead young men are Taulant Haxhiaj, 25, Roland Xhaferri, 26, and Spartak Bakalli, 26. The latter was driving the vehicles. The three others that were seriously injured are Indrit Kasa, 19, Robert Karaj, 24, and Serjan Tafani, 28. They were sent at the Tirana Military Hospital for intensive care, due to the critical conditions.
The investigators suspect that the cause of the accident is the speed of the vehicle.
The third accident took place at the Peqin-Kavaje axis, where a group of persons went off road, crashing inside a canal. The accident took the life of Gentian Sinameta, 28, and three others were seriously wounded.
