The Prosecution of Tirana has started the investigations for abuses with
the economic assistance funds, and also on suspicions of power abuse
and document falsification by the communes Paskuqan and Kerrabe.
Sources at the Prosecution told Top Channel that in both cases they have sued not only the heads of the communes in question, but also the members of the commune council, based on reports filed by the State Social Service.
One of them has been sent to the Tirana Prosecution by the end of December, for the Paskuqan commune, while the other for the Krraba commune, made public in the beginning of the year.
Prosecution sources confirmed that the task force unit prosecutors are studying the cases in question for deciding the further investigation decisions that need to be taken.
In the case of the Paskuqan commune, the state Social Services claims that the economic assistance scheme has been abused for 600 people.
228 people in the Krraba commune had benefited from the scheme, and 193 of them had legal violations.
