50 police officers with 10 vehicles and three sea vessels have been part
of a police operation for eliminating drugs. The operation focused in
some deep villages of the Gur I Zi commune, near the Vau i Dejes Lake.
The marijuana cultivators in this area resisted with guns to the police who tried to destroy the plants. They have planted cannabis again, and the parcels have been discovered from air.
The narcotics that was found and destroyed by the police, was situated in a deforested land without an owner. While police was burning the plants, they received information that one person was hiding in the woods. He was immediately arrested as a suspect.
Shkoder has been considered a problematic area for years. Only recently the Shkoder police has eliminated 6000 plants.
15 opium plants seized in Devoll
The Korce Police declared that they have seized opium during an operation. This plant serves for producing several drugs, mainly heroine, and it is widely planted in Afghanistan.
Police has found 15 plants in Tren-Devoll, arresting one 56-year-old citizen.
Raif Selami Xhaxhe was arrested after police found the opium inside his residence.
