A 38-year-old from Pogradec has died after being dragged by the Verdova village waters.

The river flow caused a tragedy this Friday by taking the life of a
38-year-old, Monika Abrashi. It took place at 09:00. The woman was at
her house when she felt the water flowing inside her house by bringing
down the gate and property surrounding wall.
The woman tried to save what she could, but the strong flow took her together with debris.
Her relatives asked neighbors for help and called the police. Her body was found after some hours, 30 meters deep in the Ochrid lake. The water had taken the body for five kilometers.
Her relatives say the river has always been problematic and it was never fixed.
The Prefect of Korce says that the situation has deteriorated after the floods.
Every winter, the Verdova citizens are forced to use very dangerous improvised bridges, putting their lives at risk.
