More than 874 Albpetrl employees were let go after a decision of the Supervisory Council.

Albpetrol says that the new structure allows a total number of employees reaching 1868, from the current 3000. For this, the company will need another wave in the first trimester of the next year.

The Supervisory Council has decided that the employees should be treated through a scheme that compensate with one year of wage those employees who have more than two years, plus a fortnight for every year of experience. Sources from Albpetrol say that the company will start testing the employees hired in the past three years.

According to them, the goal of the test is to identify the employees that do not have the necessary qualification. Albpetrol says that the test result will be made public and the firing process will be transparent. Albpetrol is the only remaining oil company that is still owned by the state. The government failed to privatize it, after a company led by Rezart Taci, Vetro Energy, offered 850 million EUR but failed to pay it.
