80th Anniversary of Albania’s Liberation gathers political leaders at the Martyrs’ Cemetery ceremony

Albania commemorates today, November 29 1944, the 80th anniversary of the Liberation from Italian and German fascist forces at the end of World War II.

Senior political officials participated in the homage at the Martyrs’ Cemetery east of the capital Tirana.

Present at the ceremony were President Bajram Begaj, Prime Minister Edi Rama, Speaker of Parliament Elisa Spiropali, Mayor Erion Veliaj, the ministry and MPs.

The Prime Minister, along with other Albanian heads of state, placed bouquets of flowers near the “Mother Albania” Monument in the martyrs cemetery.
