A pregnant woman was saved today in Peshkopia by nurses who did more than just their job.
The woman who arrived at their hospital from Bulqiza, had already lost too much blood on her way, and her life was at risk.
Seeing there was no time to send her to Tirana, eight nurses sat down and donated their own blood.
“The patient arrived with an extra uterine pregnancy, with very low blood pressure and no pulse. Thanks to the Peshkopia hospital, the personnel donated blood and the woman made it. Now she is back with normal vital signs”, said Nadire Zeneli, gynecologist.
“These are our silent heroes, the hospital staff. A big thanks to them”, said Shpresa Biçi, from the Nurses Order.
