A serious road accident happened in the early hours of this morning on the “Kelcyre-Përmet” road axis in the southeast of Albania, where a “Mercedes” type car lost control and fell on the bank of the Vjosa river.
8 people lost their lives in this accident, 7 of whom are suspected to be illegal immigrants from foreign countries, while the driver is suspected to be an Albanian from Shkodra.
From the photos taken at the scene, the car can be seen completely destroyed as reportedly the driver was speeding after being chased by a police car.
At the scene is the investigative group which, under the direction of the Prosecutor, is working to clarify the circumstances and the cause of the accident.
Also at the scene are the Local Director of Police, the Director of the Border Department, the Director of the Traffic Police and the Director of Public Order.
Two groups of the National Security Force are investigating to clarify the circumstances of the tragedy, at the end of which there will be a more detailed announcement.
