The Parliament Speaker of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, commented for Top Channel the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro and the celebrations for the 10th anniversary of independence.
“The celebrations are great. People are very happy, they live better. It is an unimaginable achievement, if we look back at what we were. It is important that Kosovo is a sovereign state”, Veseli said.
As for the border demarcation with Montenegro, Veseli said it will be completed even in Parliament within a few days, and that it will help reinforcing the sovereignty of Kosovo. “There has also been a pretext, because there are still 5 EU countries that don’t recognize Kosovo. But our message is that we want good neighboring relations and that we don’t let anything pass when it is about the sovereignty”, Veseli declared.
When asked if Kosovo changed its stance because of international pressure, Veseli said it was a matter of joint cooperation. The demarcation will be discussed in Parliament, and, according to Veseli, it will pass Tuesday or Wednesday in Parliament.
The Speaker said they expect full unanimity from the Self-Determination Movement and the Serbian List as well.
