The local elections in Kamze, northwest of Tirana, this year were carried out by means of electronic devices, which reportedly ensure a regular and transparent election process, but the expected happened as the majority of the older citizens had difficulty in adapting to the technological devices.
The commissioner in an interview stated that about 60% of the voters needed helped as they had difficulties in adapting to the electronic vote devices.
“We have not had problems with voting, but only with assistance to citizens, since the third age group does not clearly understand the process, but we have given them the appropriate assistance.
We have helped almost 60% of the voters, as we have been trained by the CEC for this situation and we are in contact all the time about the problem.
“There were no disputes that this could influence the vote, since we do not see who the person is voting for and we keep our distance, we simply give them indications about the options they should click on, until the process is over,” said the voting commissioner in Kamze.
