6 injured in knife attack on “Dine Hoxha” mosque in central Tirana

A person entered today with a bread knife in the mosque “Dine Hoxha” in Kavaja Street in Tiranaand stabbed 6 believers, while they were performing prayers. Suspected author Rudolf Nikolli, 34, from Burrel, was neutralized by passers by and subsequently arrested by the Police.
According to reports, he also attacked the citizens outside the mosque, injuring one of them.
Fortunately, the six injured are reported to be out of danger for life, one of whom is undergoing surgery.
The perpetrator lives in Klos with his family but is reported to have become violent and has been suffering from depression for six months. In addition to today act, he has reportedly used violence on his family members in Klos.
According to sources, he has recently returned from England and has since become problematic. In March of this year, he stabbed 32-year-old Robert Kurti at the bus terminal near Kamza in Tirana.
