500 kg of narcotic substances have been seized and two people have been
arrested. Police are looking for three other people on the run.
The police operation called “Challenges” ended successfully after several months of investigation held by the Anti-narcotic Police in Durres.
The police arrested Gentian Malindi, 36, resident of the Durres beach, and Elvis Bardhi, 32, from Elbasan.
The police also seized several cell phones and a considerable quantity of money.
The drugs was coming from southern Albania, probably Lazarat, and its destination might have been the domestic market. The number of users increases in a tourist season. The rest of the quantity was about to be sent to Italy.
The further investigation passed to the Prosecution of Serious Crimes.
