The Prosecution of Tirana is investigating for the report made by the
Ministry of Finances, which has suspicions about INSIG Kosovo, regarding
abuses with funds that might mount up to 5 million EUR.
The scandal was discovered after a report for the years 2009-2013. The report is about an abuse with the insurance funds spent on advertisements and employee bonuses.
A source at the Prosecution General says that the damage caused to the Albanian government mounts up to 5.135.000.000 EUR. This money might have been spent outside the deposits for insurance, into the insurance bonuses type TPL.
Sources say there are suspicions that more than 3 million EUR have been used for bonuses to employees and for repairing offices.
The former General Directors, Saimir Zemblaku, Tomorr Kalaja and Arben Breshani, say that the spending had been approved by the Supervisory Cuncil. The file says that the Supervisory Council has not decided to resolve the problems that were raised in this meeting, regarding the passing of the budget for the insurance spending.
The Prosecution has unofficially confirmed preliminary suspicions that the destination of this fund was changed through fictive bills and falsified documents, and the law has been violated through transactions.
The Ministry of Finances claims that there is power abuse by several people, including executive structures, administrators and members of the Supervisory Council of this institution.
