The socialist parliamentary group is advancing the attempt to dismiss the President of the Republic Ilir Meta.
Top Channel’s Muhamed Veliu reports that 47 Socialist MPs have signed up to support the dismissal request.
Sources from the parliamentary group said that the request and the signatures have been deposited in the presidency of the assembly since Friday.
The decision to put this request on the parliament’s agenda is now awaited.
Last week, Top Channel reported that a message had come to all Socialist MPs saying: “Based on some serious violations of the Constitution according to the provisions of Article 90, by President Ilir Meta before and during the election campaign, in consultation with the Presidency of the Parliamentary Group we have decided to initiate the procedure of dismissal of the President of the Republic.”
