The number of foreign fighters who have joined terrorist organizations in the Middle East keeps growing.

A recent report of the International Center for Studying the Radicalization and Safety in Munich, the total number goes beyond 20.000, one fifth of which comes from Western Europe.

Based on the data of 2014, this number has doubled.

Most of the European jihadists come from France, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Denmark and former Soviet Nations. Statistics show that Albania has around 90, and Kosovo 100 to 150. These figures show that the Middle East remains the dominating source of foreigners in conflict.

However, the IS has lost terrain in the strategic city of Kobani. Analysts say that many of the foreign fighters are trying to escape ISIS. The Secret Service in Munich says that 5-10% of the western jihadists are dead. 30% are constantly trying to return to their places of origin.
