4% of Albanians own 58% of bank deposits

A report at the Deposit Insurance Agency says that 4% of individuals in Albania own 4.1 billion ALL in banks.
The report notes that 58% of the total capital is owned by only 4% of individuals, which means that the remaining 96% own 42% of the total.
The average bank deposit of the 4% is 48.000 USD, while for the 96% it is 1400 USD per capita.
51% of the accounts are in Albanian Lek, up to 890 billion, while the rest in foreign currency.
The Albanian law forces deposit agencies to secure every deposit up to 2.5 million ALL, and 96% of individuals are fully insured.
