37 oil and gas companies suspended

The Ministry of Energy presented this proposal to the Central Technical Inspectorate. The 37 gas companies will not be allowed to operate. The suspension came after these companies abused with the products and didn’t respect the legal obligations to the government.

The Ministry has listed the 37 names of suspended companies, although none of them is among the biggest.

The Parliament passed a law proposed by the Ministry of Energy, which makes harsher measures for companies that abuse with the gas quality.

Together with the high level of informality, the bad quality remains one of the biggest problems.

Two years ago, the Democratic government contracted an Austrian company to mark fuels, a measure that was expected to discipline fuel quality in the market and reduces spaces for evasion.

The company received 6.5 EUR for every ton of fuel sold in our market, although the concession effect in improving quality has opened many debates.

The Ministry of Finances has declared that they are negotiating with the concessionary company without giving more details about what will happen with the concession.
