The Durres Port has turned into the main entrance of a large number of foreign tourists to Albania, from different countries.
“We saw the Roman amphitheater, the port, I promenaded along the seaside. I like the architecture. I come from Switzerland and I am transitory to Albania. I was visiting Greece”, says a Swiss citizen.
“When I tell people in Spain that I am going to Albania, they ask me ‘Where is this place? Close to Kosovo? Is it safe?’ They don’t know where it is on the map”, a Spanish citizen says.
The Minister of Economy, Milva Ekonomi, says that the number of tourists entering our country from Durres ahs raised with 34% compared to the same period of 2015. Albanian citizens who enter are also more, 17% more.
The Head of the Durres Port says there has been a higher number of cruises. Durres youth engaged to promote their city at the tourist information point near the port asked the Minister to produce maps that show the tourist destinations for visitors.
