A serious attack shocked today Korça, in the southeast of Albania, where a 31-year-old woman was attacked by her ex-husband, who poured gasoline and then set her on fire.
The suspected perpetrator Bledar Trëndafili went to the apartment where his ex-wife Melisa lived, with whom he was in the process of divorce, and committed the grave act.
Melisa was reported to be returning from work and entering her parents’ apartment where she lived with her two children after the separation, as her ex-husband, Bledar Trëndafili, met her in the alley.
He quickly threw a bottle of gasoline on her body and then set her on fire. Immediately after he left, while the police are in his persuit.
The 31-year-old woman was initially taken the hospital in Korça, but due to her serious condition, she was transported to the hospital in Tirana. The couple were in the process of divorcing, and it seems that her 45-year-old ex-husband did not accept it.
The police say are pursuing the 45-year-old, while the injured woman is being treated at the trauma hospital in Tirana.
