Kosovo media quote “Radio Free Europe” in Ukrainian, which reports that 300 Serbs are currently fighting in Donbas against Ukrainian forces, on behalf of Russia.

Their travel to Donetsk is funded by the Russian organization called “Kosovo Front”, which is registered as a humanitarian organization in Russia and operates in Balkan, from where it sends Serbian soldiers to Ukrainian territory.

Serbian Analyst Dushan Janjic says for “Blic” that the name of this organization shows the influence that Russia has especially on Kosovo Serbs.

Former diplomat Daniel Serwer says that Moscow is currently blocking Kosovo’s UN accession.

Russia, according to him, is losing influence in the region and has intensified its cooperation with their oldest allies, Serbia.

Russia donated many MIG military aircrafts to Serbia and held joint military training together. They also built a “humanitarian” logistic base near Nis, according to Serwer, who agrees with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, hoyt Brian Yee, who claimed that Belgrade cannot sit on two chairs, one one hand increasing its relation with Russia and also trying to become EU member.
