More than 300 companies from the entire region presented their best innovative practices, ideas and projects in Tirana, especially as regards tourism, technology, the banking system, energy and telecommunication.
This was the first time that Tirana hosted the Innovation Festival, organized by the Municipality of Tirana and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which aims to encourage innovative ideas for startup companies.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, underlined the importance of developing such ideas for a better functionality of the city.
“Together with the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Innovation, we decided to turn the iconic building of Tirana, (the Pyramid), into an alternative school for 5000 young people”, Veliaj said, adding that by cooperating with investors, this could be a Balkan success story.
