Today were recorded 3 deaths and an increase in COVID-19 cases in Albania. 477 new cases of infection were found out of 7733 tests performed.
174 new cases were detected in Tirana, 46 in Shkodra, 20 in Saranda, 19 in Elbasan and fewer in other districts.
56 patients with coronavirus are being treated at the Infectious Diseases Hospital.
The people who passed away are a 57-year-old citizen from Tirana, a 76-year-old man from Vlora and an 84-year-old citizen from Fier.
The Ministry of Health appealed to the citizens to get vaccinated in order “to protect themselves and your loved ones, as well as to stop the spread of the dangerous virus”.
August is an open month of COVID-19 vaccination for every citizen over 18 years old. Anti-COVID vaccines reduce the chance of infection and greatly avoid hospitalizations and fatalities.
“If you suspect that you are affected by COVID19 or have signs of the disease, isolate yourself immediately and contact your family doctor in order to be tested, or call the National Emergency on the unique number 127”, the ministry writes.
