28 MEPs of the European Parliament, from different political groups, have sent a letter to the President and Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci and Ramush Haradinaj.
The initiators of this letter are Slovenian and German MEPs Igor Stoltes and Rebecca Harms.
Stoltes says on Twitter that with this letter, signed by 28 MEPs across political groups, they express their serious concern over the case of 6 Turkish citizens, who were detained in Kosovo and Deported to Turkey.
“As Members of the European Parliament we are urging you to fully respect all judicial procedures in line with European principles and standards. All actions taken by local Kosovar authorities must be in full respect of the rule of law and promotion of universal respect for and observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms. Arbitrary procedures concerning arrest, detention or extradition are in violation of these principles”, the letter says.
