More than 202 thousand individuals in 11 municipalities of Albania were directly and indirectly affected by the natural disaster, with Tirana and Durres, as well as other areas such as Kurbin, Lezha and Shijaku, most affected.
A catastrophe that caused about 700 million euros in damage to private homes, about 150 million euros in the tourism sector and about 33 million euros in pubilc infrastructure.
A high financial bill for the economy of a small developing country like Albania. In such conditions, the government decided to seek help for the rehabilitation of the consequences of the earthquake. “Together for Albania”, under this logo would be held in Brussels Donor Conference on February 17 this year, which would engage a total of 1.15 billion euros in aid, of which 295 million euros were grants and the rest of 885 million euros are loans pledged by states and other financial institutions.
