Children in the village of Funarë of Librazhd in central Albania, are learning in bars or abandoned houses, since the collapse of the school by the November 2019 earthquake.
The investigative program Fiks Fare reports that there are about 100 children who as a result now learn in 5 different improvised premises in the village. The age group of the children varies from kindergarten to 9th grade.
The school of this village has been out of order since the earthquake of November 2019, and since then this is the only solution to have been found for the children of the village.
Top Channel’s ‘Fiks Fare’ program reporters went to look closely at the situation and found two classrooms in an abandoned house, one class being held in a former bar, and two other classes on the first floor of a house. To go to the toilet, the children had to go out to another room where pool was played, and then carry out their personal needs.
Fiks Fare reporters called the school director Mr. Naim Goma to learn more about how the learning process ended up in this way. But even the director was teaching children in an outdoor environment.
The journalists also met the head of the village, Mr. Ferit Mokra. In the interview he said that the learning process carried out in this form is a big problem, but complained that they had no other solution.
