20 years of Top Albania Radio, 20 years of love

Its successful story was followed by the audiovisual media revolution that was first seen by this radio and later by Top Channel and Digitalb.

Dritan Hoxha, the man of the big dreams, undertook this initiative and created a staff with an average age of 20-years-old.

He was always behind the curtains, not to control, but to feel part of the team.

The official broadcast started on February 14^th, with the first presented, Gerta Heta, who was later followed by Alketa Vejsiu, Arbana Osmani, Xhoi, Ledion Lico, Eno Popi, etc. The first artistic spirit had the signature of Bojken Lako.

The DJs have always been and still are what made Top Albania Radio different and more advanced. DJ Aldo was the first one, known for his ability to mix, together with DJ Bendi, Dj Olti, Indri and Dori DJ.

Zamira Koleci, a career journalist on Radio Tirana created the newsroom with a totally new format, with flash news, short and rhythmic.

The first radio shows were “A song for you”, “Disco Lancio”, which turned into legendary icons and that still air even today, together with “Wake Up”, “Live from Tirana”, “Radio Cinema”, “Road Trip”, “Rikoshet”, “Mix 2 Mix”, “Pro Shqip”, “Summer Dance”, “Top Dance”, etc.

In 1999, Top Albania Radio was the first one in our country to buy copyrighted songs. Today it broadcasts and promotes Albanian music, which makes a considerable part of the music list.

20 years on air, with the goal to produce the best of the best. This is the big love that gets bigger with time, and that Albanians want in every moment of their existence. Top Albania Radio is now 20, but it is still number 1 for every Albanian all over the world.
