19 milion lekë are missing from the main vault of a commercial bank branch in Tirana, police officers confirmed after several hours of investigations. Previously authorities thought robbers had not achieved getting anything, but later had to reconsider.
On Monday morning a 50×30 cm hole was found in one of the walls of the bank’s buildings, exactly in the chamber leading to the vault. Police thinks robbers have been working for three days digging the hole and had reached it without causing any noise or sounding the alarm.
The robbers entered from the underground floor of a building that once served as a pub. They left some equipment that helped them, seized by police as items that can help solving the case.
