19.4% of Albanian children have experienced bullying in schools

Bullying is a worldwide phenomenon, present in Albania as well.

Top Channel has reported it before, while the recent report of the Ministry of Education and Council of Europe brings new findings.

According to the report, bullying is more present in private urban schools, with girls making most of the victims, boys most of the bullies.

9.7% are victims, 5.2% bullies, and the most frequent bullying is the psychological one, which takes 45%. Physical bullying makes 33%, 37% is verbal, according to Tatjana Vucani, specialist at the Ministry of Education.

Virtual bullying on social networks is not that widespread, however, it is present.

The report admits that the presence of a teacher in the classroom not always stops bullying, which continues outside. 39% of bullying cases take place in the classroom, when the teacher is not present, 38% outside the school, 13% in the classroom, in presence of the teacher.
