18 million USD for the disabled

Within December, the government will allocate 18 million USD to pay the disabled people and those with economic assistance.
The Minister of Labor and Welfare, Erion Veliaj, declared that this decision will be made efficient in the next government meeting.
“We found the money. Certainly, we took them off of something else. It was a very difficult decision, but these people are those who need them the most. It’s a total of 18 million USD, 100% of the disabled payment”, Veliaj declared.
The payments will be made in January. The government has decided for cuts in bonuses of employees and also asked for a soft loan. The Minister of Labor and Welfare declared that by January they will inspect every disabled person, since there have been huge abuses.
“Some people have declared to be blind just because they have bought a pair of glasses. And since their payment can be tripled when they study, many have provided documents for fictive studies in universities. We are working to clean the scheme. We will inspect every person who takes the payments for the disabled”, Veliaj declared.
The Ministry of Labor initiated the campaign: “Albania donates before the New Year’s Eve”, inviting businesses, individuals and religions communities to help the people in need.
