The Guardia di Finanza in Italy held another operation against drug,
seizing marijuana, cocaine and heroine brought from Albania, this time
in Rimini.
The investigations for this case have started since 2013, and only now they arrested 16 persons and seized assets mounting up to five million EUR, including a drug lab, sea vessels, vehicles, weapons and ammunition.
As for today’s operation, an oceanic motorboat was blocked in northern Otranto by the Guardia di Finanza, with 734 kg of marijuana on board. Three Albanian citizens were caught on board, held by police for international drug traffic.
The operation started after the inflatable motorboat was discovered from air and was followed by the patrols in the Otranto Channel. Police say this is the tenth operation of this kind that was carried out in this area.
