Relatives of the victims who died in January 9th, 2004, traveled from Shkodra and Lezha to Vlora to commemorate the 28 victims, 8 of which were lost in sea.

Their relatives have been looking for justice the past 14 years, claiming that their loved ones were left in the middle of the sea by the state’s negligence.

They trust justice and accused the government leaders of the time of organizing the clandestine traffic.

On January 9th, 2004, an inflatable powerboat with 36 persons onboard was travelling to Italy, from the Palasa beach.

Due to the bad weather, 28 died and eight were lost in the sea. The survivors said they had been seeking for help, but it arrived very late.
