Other houses in the area were endangered by the fire, but the villagers managed to put out the fire by buckets of water. At the time of the fire, there were family members in the house b ut fortunately, there were no injuries, only material damage.

The family members claim that soon after the incident, an investigation team arrived and helped this family with two tents. They added for “Fiks Fare” program that the Municipality of Gramshi in cooperation with the Red Cross also helped them with clothes and food.

After this help, the family members said that there were no other reactions from these institutions. Fiks Fare provided images of these tents that the Meçi family lives in, where they saw that their condition is not stable at all.

The Meçi family said that they have turned to the editors of the Fiks Fare show to help them find a place to live, since they have not seen any further response from the municipality.

The journalists of Fiks Fare requested information from the Municipality of Gramshi. In its response, this institution clarifies that there is no fund for the reconstruction of the Meci family house, and for this reason they have started a letter to the Ministry of Finance.

The municipality said that it has carried out verifications in the Meci family’s apartment, where it has established that the damages caused as a result of the fire are significant both in terms of construction, as well as the household possessions and furnishings.

One of the couples of the great family with minor children, in cooperation with the Red Cross, have been placed in a 2+1 container apartment. Meanwhile, Mr. Zaim Meçi is accommodated in the damaged building, after a partial reconstruction work, while the family of Mr. Lavdi Meçi is accommodated in the tent that Gramsh Municipality has made available.

The municipality also clarifies that the family of Mr. Lavdi Meçi was offered a rented house in their village, but they did not accept it because of the bad state, and therefore they are living in the tents that the municipality brought as initial assistance.
