Top Channel has learned that the drug was divided in three containers, with 137 kg in total, most of which filled with rice.

The police arrested two persons in this operation coordinated with the US DEA: Ardian Bego, a security guard at the Durres Port; Altin Myslihaka, fisherman, both of them left in prison until trial.

Gentian Malindi, son of lawyer Ilir Malindi, who was waiting in a gray car with foreign plates to receive the drugs, is now on the run.

But Top Channel has learned that these people were not the ones who took the drug. They took the rice packages, 22kg in total, which they thought were full of cocaine. The police intervened and seized the drug.

Bego, Myslihaka, and Malindi left Durres Port using the secondary route. That’s when they realized something was wrong with the drugs. The Albanian police had placed GPS tracers inside.

The Durres port has turned into a major cocaine channel, apparently. 613kg of cocaine was seized months ago. An operation revealed Arber Cekaj as the person who ordered the drug quantity. He was handed over to the Albanian authorities last week to face justice on drug trafficking charges.
