12.000 sticks of dynamite, 200 grams each, and other military materials
have disappeared from the military depots in Nuaj village, Kruja, with a
damage that mounts up to 200 million ALL.
This alarming discovery was made public this Friday by the Kruja Prosecution, and arrested Adem Hasani, responsible for the depots. He is charged of power abuse.
The Prosecution says that the explosive might have been sold to the quarries of the area, or maybe even for terrorist purposes inside our outside Albania.
Sources from the Prosecution say they suspect that the explosions that have taken place in the area might have been realized with the Nuaj village explosive. In these conditions they asked the Military Police to make an inventory, and found that 2400 kilograms of dynamite and other ammunition was missing.
The Prosecution is working to find the complete scheme of the loss of military material and other people who may have been involved in this situation.
This is not the first time that army materials are stolen by those whose duty is to guard them. 96 kilograms of C4 explosive was seized in Tirana, which had come from the Albanian military depots. The Tirana POlice arrested Ilir Dhimo, who worked as captain in the ammunition elimination sector, Artur Celo, Pellumb Daci, who was a Mayor, former Deputy Commander at the Armed Forces, and Emild Taku, soldier at the transportation battalion. Even in this case the police raised suspicions that the dynamite was sold for criminal activities or for the quarries.
