11 students die in bus accident

A serious road accident has taken place in the Himara-Saranda segment,
where a bus full of students has fallen for at least 100 meters in the
mountain slope.
According to yet unofficial information, there could be 11 victims, while 22 others have been seriously injured.
Police and medical teams are going to the Qafa e Vishes, the place where the accident took place, aid by ambulances and helicopters.
The bus was coming from the city of Elbasan, and the students are from the “Aleksander Xhuvani” University, third year of Literature and Grammar faculty.
While the state police declared that a special group has been established for managing the situation.
Andrea Goro, a member of the Himara Municipality Council declared for Top Channel that the situation is very serious and the number of victims goes to 11.
Top Channel’s correspondent declared that the bus has fallen in a slope for more than 80 meters, and is completely destroyed. The authorities have tried hard to remove the survivors from the wreck.
The Interior Minister, Bujar Nishani, is traveling to the site of the accident together with the General Chief of Police, Hysni Burgaj, for managing the situation closely.
