The independence ceremony at the main square of the Vlore city, where
the Albanian flag was raised for independence on November 28th 1912,
gathered today President Bujar Nishani, PM Edi Rama, Deputy Parliament
Speaker Valentina Leskaj, Mayor of Vlore Dritan Leli, and other high
rank officials.
The highest government leaders placed wreaths at the Independence Monument on the Flag Square and greeted the gathered citizens, before continuing with the ceremony.
On the same time, the highest opposition leaders stood to their tradition by commemorating the Independence and Liberation Day from the Nazi Occupation on the same day.
The DP leader, Lulzim Basha, the former PM, Sali Berisha, and other high leaders of the Democratic Party honored the fallen martyrs with wreaths.
