New Year amnesty will include all prisoners, except for those sentenced to life in prison.
Sources confirmed for Top Channel that the Ministry of Justice is currently working for the prisoners who will have one year reduced.
Four thousand prisoners are expected to benefit, 1000 of whom may be released immediately.
Same sources say that the convicts are mainly sentenced for robbery, illegal power connection, illegal constructions or driving under the influence of alcohol or without a license.
This category have received sentences varying from several months to even one year.
The General Prison Police is planning the lists of convicts who will be released, so that the amnesty can be implemented before the New Year’s celebrations.
