They say dreams are often unreachable, but for Dritan Hoxha it wasn’t so. He went after the biggest, most extraordinary ones, those that seemed the most distant – dreams which were not only his, of his passion and desires but of all Albanians.
Albania’s media giant, Top Channel, was a big dream that challenged the reality of its time, same as Dritan Hoxha did with “Lori Café”. It showed that he wasn’t to be stopped. And the truth is he never stopped.
Digitalb was his other creation, putting Albania by the side of those few countries in the world that had digital TV broadcasts. Dritan Hoxha went after this dream, challenged it, and turned it into a huge success that keeps uniting Albanians around the world.
Right when no one expected it, Albania was competing by the side of international giants, broadcasting in its own language, in the digital world, which was such an avant-garde enterprise for the time. Dritan Hoxha didn’t stop because the Albanian world was very special to him. This significance was reflected in every step that Top Channel has taken so far, becoming the TV of all Albanians.
It is not just a TV station, not just a media group like all others. Top Channel was born like a family, which was initially composed of the few people who believed in Dritan Hoxha’s project. After that, every Albanian, young and old, were able to find in this station themselves, Albania and all Albanians.
Top Channel ran with the pace of Dritan Hoxha, with his vision and his passion, with his desire to get bigger and bigger, never thinking about slowing down. Dritan Hoxha was unstoppable, with a vision that few people have. And he reflected this in every step that he took.
Top Channel keeps following his dream, the dream of a giant, of a man who showed that everything could be possible if you really wanted it with all of your heart.
Today, on the 10th anniversary of his passing away, Top Channel keeps getting bigger, keeps challenging and going after the best. The same way it was born, through the talent, the qualities and passions of a man, it still stands today in the house of every Albanian. Dritan, or Tani, as everyone knew him, is still here, with the unique spirit of the man who challenged dreams.
