There are 9500 foreigners who live in Albania with a work permit. Many have started their businesses or have a job and families in Albania.
However, while they try to integrate in our culture, they also meet things they don’t really like.
A survey with foreigners lists 10 things they like and 10 things they don’t like.
10 things foreigners like in Albania
- Drivers and waiters know foreign languages.
- You can have good espresso even in remote areas.
- Tomatoes taste as they used to before.
- People are friendly.
- Restaurants offer very good and cheap food.
- The weather is warm and sunny almost all year round.
- A lot of various things to visit in a small country: “sea, rivers, mountains, etc”.
- Most of the population is young.
- Women are beautiful.
- Almost everyone is ready to help you, when asked.
10 things foreigners don’t like in Albania
- Pedestrians don’t respect street lights and there are careless drivers.
- Loud voice used in normal conversations, even when being playful with children.
- Village cafes frequented only by males.
- Insisting to tell other people how to do their job. Even when two workers are digging a canal, they’re told how deep it should be.
- Popular breakfast with burek and dhalle.
- Cooking animal intestines.
- Work meetings in cafes.
- Insisting over who pays the bill.
- Girls who walk and hold each other’s hand.
- Men who kiss on the cheek when they meet.
