The decree of former President Nishani for bringing down the waste law
was voted at the Productive Activities Commission, with votes of the
majority.

Socialist MPs, Shalsi and Bare, voted to abstain. The procedure was held without debates, but Florion Mima from the DP and Shalsi from the SP reacted with declarations.

“The Democratic Party will be vigilant and invites anyone who is interested to have a cleaner country, to join us with any possible idea that helps bringing this project ot Parliament”, Mima declared.

“It was never about importing urban waste, but waste of raw materials for the recycling industry”, Shalsi said.

The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, warned that the decree would be accepted by the majority.

“We are going to withdraw the project not because those who oppose it are right, not because the former president is right, but because it is a right of every citizen to be better informed about it”, Rama declared.

The Commission also voted in favor of another decree from President Bujar Nishani, for repealing the law which forced businesses to become members of the Chamber of Commerce. Both decrees will go for voting this Thursday in Parliament.
